Call for Participants for a drawing event 2-3pm, Saturday 31st July 2010.

Drawings will be viewable on the First Floor of the Corn Exchange everyday until Saturday 4th September 2010.

Drawing Time! is a live drawing extravaganza to take place in the magnificent Corn Exchange in Leeds. The event will bring together 46 artists who draw, ranging from traditional to experimental approaches to the medium, in a fun hour-long event. Everyone is most welcome to come and see the 46 artists at work on Saturday 31st July!

The event will make use of the circular structure of the Corn Exchange by having 46 pieces of paper displayed on the first-floor and each piece of paper will eventually have a drawing by a different artist. All the drawings will be done in the space in an hour.

Some parameters will be set for the drawing, the position in the building where the work will eventually hang will dictate how much time artists will get to make their drawing. That is, if positioned at 2 o’ clock the artist will get 5 minutes to make their drawing and if positioned at 10 o’ clock there will be 50 minutes.

April Fools day is drawing close; a time for merriment and non-seriousness. Why not use April 1st, 2010 as an excuse to create some spontaneous artwork too? Send us documentation of something you have done or made on April 1st, 2010 between 12.00am and 11.59pm and we will display it as part of the April Fools exhibition in Leeds Shopping Plaza. Documentation and artworks may take the form of drawing, photography, text, painting, collage or whatever takes your fancy as long as it can be reproduced at A3 paper size. Artwork should be sent as a digital file to be printed A3 size in colour (hard copies will not be accepted). Videos will also accepted but must be no longer than 3 minutes in duration and will be compiled into a showreel to be shown on a monitor. As the exhibition is in a public space artwork which is inappropriate or offensive will not be accepted.
